How It Works

Clean workflows for tournament managers and referees.

Parry is focused on making staffing and tournament coordination easier to understand. Each section below leaves room for visuals, so this page can grow into a simple walkthrough with screenshots or video.

For Hosts

Tournament managers

From creating the tournament to paying staff, managers can move through the process in a straightforward flow.

1

Create your tournament

Make an account, go to Tournament Search, and click New Tournament. Import information from AskFRED or build the tournament from scratch yourself.

2

Post the help you need

Choose the type of help your event needs and decide how many staffing slots you want to post to the board for applicants to find.

3

Track applications and outreach

Get notifications when applications come in, review interested referees, and reach out to other refs on the site while your listings are live.

4

Handle payouts simply

Once staffing is set, manage payouts with the touch of a button through Stripe instead of chasing payment logistics after the tournament.

For Refs

Referees

Referees can browse relevant postings, apply quickly, and keep communication and updates in one place.

1

Find postings that fit

Make an account, head to the Postings tab, and filter by region, event type, accepted ratings, and weapon to find the tournaments that match you.

2

Apply fast

Write a message if you want more context, or simply click Apply to put your name down as an interested applicant right away.

3

Stay updated in one place

Get updates straight in your inbox from tournament managers so you know when conversations move forward and when you are officially hired.

4

Get paid with less hassle

When a tournament uses Parry payouts, Stripe makes compensation smoother so you are not stuck following up through separate payment channels.

Want more hands-on support for your next event?

We are looking for tournament managers running events with fewer than 75 fencers per event. We will help set up the tournament, help staff it, promote it, and run it with you in exchange for feedback on the software.
